Outlines and fish

Outlining with a red zig-zag stitch really highlights all the different shapes. Unfortunately the photos don’t show how jewel like the colours actually are in reality.

And they are done, just the gold leather crosses to add to the fish.

I found a pattern for a chasuble in a book by Beryl Dean, the doyene of ecclesiastical embroidery.

Why purple you might ask? Well, ages ago I found a huge roll of purple tweed fabric in a charity shop for £10, I couldn’t walk past that without buying it now could I? Have wondered ever since what I might do with it. Then I had a brainwave, a mock up chasuble to give me an idea of how the panels might look. Just waiting now for the delivery of the red fabric that I am going to use.
