About

Welcome to my website. I hope you find my stoles inspirational and that they fill your heart with as much joy as they do mine.

I am Elaine Bradshaw, creator of handmade, bespoke, embroidered stoles, vestments and church textiles.

Up until being asked to create a stole for my sister’s ordination, my main focus has been quilting. I have had a quilt exhibited at the NEC in their Festival of Quilts a few years ago. My daughter’s wedding in 2017 meant sewing four bridesmaid and two flower girl dresses and the arrival of my first grandchildren has also given me the excuse to make baby clothes, not that I needed much of an excuse!

All of my items are cut out by hand & embroidered using the finest silks and cottons. I design each item to incorporate the symbols and religious iconography of your choosing. I love the process of talking through ideas & trying to come up with something new and exciting, that fulfills your vision. From everyday stoles to intricate one off designs for special occasions, such as ordinations, I’ll design a unique piece just for you.

Each stole or church textile takes many hours to design and embroider and I pride myself on the little details that make each stole unique. Take a look through my gallery to see some of my work or read the story behind each special design in my blog.

If you would like to commission a stole or other church textile please use the Contact form to send me a message and I’ll be in touch as soon as I can. Please bear in mind that due to the time it takes to create each stole I am limited to the number I can create.

Each piece will be costed individually dependent on intricacy of design, fabrics & work involved and of course your budget. If you would like to discuss a design please contact me using the contact form, where I will be happy to advise on timescale and price.

I hope my stoles and textiles bring as much joy to your heart as they do mine to create.

Elaine
