This stole commission came from a client who is a celebrant in Scotland and was quite a challenge in its complexity of required elements but everything is possible, eventually! The client wanted the stole to reflect the main highlights of their personality and life experiences. They had formerly been the Artistic Director of the Adelphi Theatre in London & Director of ? at Glamis Castle. The Adelphi side was to reflect their love of the theatre, a nod to Robert The Bruce (ancestry) , comedy & tragedy masks. The Glamis side was to reflect the castle itself & the clock on the tower set to 15:10. Also to be included was the black Scottish terrier. The last request was it must include the colours of the rainbow, I think you will agree it does!
This stole is created using silk Dupion, the design is appliqued in complementary colours. This is an example of a ‘scenic’ stole.
