This stole feature quite a simple design but carries a very powerful message. It depicts the emotion and moment of reconciliation between a father and daughter who had not seen or been in contact with each other for many years. I was provided with a photograph of this embrace and the idea that it should be surrounded by a heart created out of branches, evoking the process of remaining, pruning and re-growth.
The stole is created in ivory silk Dupion with a machine-applied design. It is an example of a ‘symbol’ stole.
