The inspiration for this commission was from Romans 5 v1-5. The client wanted me to portray a journey, perhaps a winding road through the countryside, with two figures, an adult & a child holding hands, telling the story of life’s journey, with all its trials & tribulations. The Holy Spirit is depicted as a dove always alongside us on this journey.
This stole is made using ivory Dupion silk and machine-applied silk shapes & images stitched in complementary colours. It is an example of one of my ‘Pictoral Stoles’
