The brief for this stole was that there must be a reference to the Oak tree. The church where they are to serve their curacy has the oak tree as their symbol and my client wanted it referenced. It was required to ‘not be too busy’ so I decided to concentrate on the leaves of the tree rather than trying to depict the tree itself. I am really pleased with the way the crosses seem to dance at the bottom as the leaves gather at their bases.
The stole is predominantly ivory silk Dupion with appliqued silk oak leaves in shades of green, brown & gold. This is an example of a ‘full-length’ design.
