This stole was commissioned by a vicar who wanted to reference the stained glass window depicting Mary Magdalen in their church at Sy Mary Magdalene & All saints in Alsager. On the other panel of the stole there is the figure of the Lamb of God, taken directly from the reredos behind the altar.
The stole is created in green silk Dupion with appliqued figures. Each figure is built up using small pieces of coloured silk and then stitched to the background with close zig zag stitching. The features were drawn on by hand using specialist fabric pens.
