A beloved father’s unique embroideries were the starting point for this Ordination stole. After a chat with her father about a design with a child’s hand making the sign of the cross on the palm of an adult, he went away and unbeknown to her, embroidered these three beautiful motifs.
When designing this stole I didn’t want to detract from the motifs so I designed something that incorporated an important biblical passage for my client.
It is worked in ivory silk Dupion, with appliqued lettering, stitched in gold metallic thread. The dark blue outline is worked with a couched 3ply twist thread.
