This commission was for a white Ordination stole for summer 2021.
The client had a number of ideas for their stole and after the ideas and initial designs were shared it was decided to have a design that reflected ‘new life’. On one side there would be the birth of Jesus, in a very simple stable surrounded by light. On the other, the discovery of the empty tomb and the new life of Jesus’ resurrection.
This stole is worked on ivory silk dupion with machine appliqued detailing, each piece of fabric is held in place with gold metallic thread.
