This stole was commissioned by a client who was going to be using it at the wedding blessing of a friend and her partner. The design was to be a delicate rainbow in muted shades of pink, beige and cream with gold butterflies around and across it. Butterflies in Christianity are a symbol of resurrection, with the stages of its life cycle, reflecting the principles of Christ’s resurrection and the spiritual transformation of believers.
The stole was created using ivory Dupion silk with an appliqued rainbow and gold butterflies stitched down with complementary colours.
