This commission for an ivory Ordination stole came from a carpenter. They wanted a reference to the fact they were a carpenter and that the cross of the crucifiction was hewn from rough timbers. Embroidered on the lining on both side of the stole, beginning at the top of the shoulders are the words ‘shape me, change me, form me’ as a constant reminder of their life’s spiritual purpose and journey.
It is created using ivory Dupion silk, with machine appliqued silk elements. The wording on the lining is created using machine zig zag stitch.
