Stained Glass Chalice and Bread

The brief for this stole was that it should reflect the client’s love of bright colours, one of their favourite artists being Antoni Gaudi who is famous for his brightly coloured mosaics in the Sagrada Familia in Spain. I have created a stole previously for a client using a very similar design but this time a chalice and grapes are feature on one side and bread and wheat on the other. The Queens Foundation cross features on the back neck seam.

The stole is created using small pieces of brightly coloured silks appliqued in complementary colours on an ivory Dupion silk background.
