Llanwenog Sheep & Wheat

The client who commissioned this stole wanted it to reflect, on one side, their life as a shepherdess, her flock being Llanwenog sheep, a lovely ‘woolly’ sheep with a black face. The other side was a memorial to a beloved husband. I tried to created the idea of a river which would connect the two sides, by using flowing lines of blue and gold, that has its source at the Celtic ‘tree cross’ up on the left side at chest height.

This stole was created using ivory Dupion silk, with a silk design appliqued using gold thread.
