The inspiration for this Ordination stole came from Psalm 96 ‘O Sing Unto the Lord’ and the hymn ‘All Creatures of Our God and King’. It is one of my more complicated ‘pictorial’ designs, having a number of very small elements, writing and musical notation. The client wanted the design to reflect not only this Psalm and hymn but also their life journey, love of music and nature. As the writing was so small, rather than trying to work it with my machine I decided to use fabric pens for the first time. No going back with this decision as it was done right at the end, so NO margin of error!!!
This stole is worked in ivory Dupion silk with machine applique and handwritten elements.
