The brief for this commission was that it should include 15 pastel-coloured butterflies. Each butterfly represented ta member training with the priest who commissioned the stole. We started with butterfly silhouettes but then added some cutout elements to add more depth and detail.
This stole is worked in ivory Dupion silk with pastel butterflies appliqued with complementary coloured threads.
