Developing the design

Well almost there, still a few tweaks when I know the exact length of the orphrey. I have a feeling they are currently too long.

This is the bit I like, finding the right colour silks.

Still want to find some more oranges if I can. Thank you The Silk Route for your wonderful Silk Dupions.

The next phase is working out how much silk of each colour to buy, a bit laborious but worth taking the time to do. My recently purchased dressmakers squared paper came in really handy.

Right, now this is something I have never made before, a chasuble, so I turned to the doyen of ecclesiastical embroidery Beryl Dean for advice and a pattern.
