Bishop Edward King Chapel Stole

This commission came from a priest who had completed her training at Ripon College, Cuddesdon in Oxfordshire. She asked if I could use the Bishop Edward King chapel at the college as inspiration. Having visited the chapel when my sister was training there, I knew it was a beautiful, light, modern space, with soaring timbers leading your eyes upward to the most beautiful ceiling. I wanted this stole to reflect that feeling of light and space. The stole was created using a reverse applique technique, where three layers of silk are layed one upon the other and after stitching, cut through to reveal the colours underneath. It was completed in November 2018.
